9. Project Description:
Technology Components:
Working with a large Water Treatment facility to optimize their processes. System consists of a Modbus Plus process LAN with over 16 Modicon 984-145 PLCs distributed throughout the plant and 10 remote Modicon 984 Compact PLCs over leased line. Redundant InTouch Wonderware SCADA nodes provide operators monitor and control capability. The SCADA nodes are networked to other PCs via Ethernet. Processes monitored and controlled by the system include influent pumps, filters, backwash systems, and chemical feed pumps. The system has over 1200 I/O points. System generates extensive reports for state and federal environmental agencies.
